May 19 2025 – IMIDA held the conference “Challenges of Viticulture and Oenology in the Region of Murcia” at Jumilla, Spain

Our partner IMIDA (Murcia, Spain), in collaboration with the wine designations of origin of Jumilla, Yecla, and Bullas, held the conference “Challenges of Viticulture and Oenology in the Region of Murcia” on May 19 to make IMIDA’s research expertise available to the regional wine sector and strengthen business competitiveness.

During the conference, Leonor Ruiz García presented IMIDA’s work on breeding new grapevine varieties resistant to powdery and downy mildew, and described how these hybrids are being characterized through the Shield4Grape project in collaboration with the University of La Rioja (Logroño, Spain).
