The workshop took place on the afternoon of Tuesday 18 February 2025 in the Aula Magna of Ampelion in Alba, entitled “Grapevine genetic improvement between present and future”. It wasorganized by Vignaioli Piemontesi in collaboration with CNR and DISAFA – University of Torino.
The aim of the event was to present to winemakers and viticultural technicians the current and future prospects of NBT, PIWI and somaclones for a more resilient and sustainable viticulture. The event, held both in person and online, was free to attend, ensuring broad accessibility to the latest advancements in grapevine genetics.
Among the distinguished speakers, Giorgio Gambino, Chiara Pagliarani and Irene Perrone from CNR-IPSP presented the different techniques available for the grapevine genetic improvement and the research carried out in the frame of the S4G project.
