On May 6–7, 2025, the 37th Meeting of the Working Group on Experimentation in Viticulture and Oenology (GTEVE) took place in Vilafranca del Penedès, Spain, organized by INCAVI (Catalan Institute of Vine and Wine). The event brought together over 70 researchers from more than 20 public institutions, featuring 42 presentations on cutting-edge R&D in viticulture and oenology.

Among the highlights, our partners IMIDA and ICVV presented results from the SHIELD4GRAPE project, focusing on the evaluation of resistance in MRomK and MRomS wine grape hybrids to the fungal diseases Erysiphe necator and Plasmopara viticola. The findings enabled the selection of hybrids with the highest degree of resistance to both diseases. These promising varieties will continue to be evaluated for their agronomic and oenological performance under the SHIELD4GRAPE project.

The GTEVE conference continues to serve as a key platform for knowledge exchange and national collaboration in the wine research community, reinforcing the link between innovation and sustainable viticulture practices.
